MG-Guard HAS-3039

Protect your outdoor flexible PVC applications with MG-Guard™ UV-3039

MG-Guard™ UV-3039 is a liquid cyanoacrylate UV absorber that is especially compatible with common plasticizers, both phthalate and non-phthalate. A strong UV-B absorber, MG-Guard UV-3039 screens ultraviolet radiation and imparts colorfastness, protection against surface crazing, and retention of physical properties during ultraviolet exposure to a number of polymer systems, including TPU, PMMA, polyesters, and especially plasticized PVC. For CASE applications, MG-Guard™ UV-3039 is useful in silicone emulsions, inks, acrylic, vinyl, urea-formaldehyde, alkyd, epoxy, and polyurethane. Additionally, MG-Guard™ UV-3039 is a common absorber for sunscreens and other cosmetics.

MG-Guard HAS-3529

The next level in light stabilization performance for polyolefin and engineering polymer systems

MG-Guard™ HAS-3529 is a high molecular weight tertiary hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS). This additive imparts excellent colorfastness and thermal stability to a number of polymer systems, including: polyolefins (PP, PE), rubber-modified polyolefins (TPO, TPV), polyamides, PMMA, styrenics (PS, ABS, SAN, ASA), polyacetals, PET, PBT, and PVC, among others.

The tertiary structure imparts a number of benefits over traditional HALS chemistries (e.g. UV-770 and UV-944), including:

Superior UV and Thermal Stability in TPO’s

MG-Guard™ LS-701 is a top-of-the-line synergistic mixture of absorbers and stabilizers, imparting outstanding stability against UV and thermal degradation for polyolefins and rubber-modified polyolefins (PE, PP, TPO). MG LS-701 is used when ultra-long-term performance is desired; 10+ years outdoor stabilization is attainable in olefin molding applications with this stabilizer. Typical loadings are in the 0.1-1.0% regime, depending on formulation specifics and desired service life.

For extra protection against surface crazing/cracking, especially for PP & TPO, MG LS-701 demonstrates excellent synergism with low molecular weight hindered amine stabilizers, including UV-3853.

MG-Guard AO-725

An Oligomeric Phenolic Antioxidant for Durable Olefin and Engineering Resins

MG-Guard™ AO-725 is an oligomeric high molecular weight primary antioxidant originally designed for the rubber industry. Due to the fact that this antioxidant is not held together with hydrolyzable functionalities, it is an excellent choice in thermoplastic applications requiring high additive extraction resistance or especially aggressive thermal use cases.

Key applications include underwater submersion robustness (especially for UL wire jacketing testing), TPO roofing membranes, and under-the-hood. MG AO-725 is compatible in a number of thermoplastics, including: polyolefins (PE, PP), rubber-modified polyolefins (TPO, TPV), polyamides, EVA, PVC, polycarbonate, polyesters (PET, PBT), styrenics (ABS, PC/ABS, PS, SAN, ASA), and adhesives, among others. Due to the reactive phenolic structure, this material is prone to phenolic yellowing, and is best suited for applications where color change is secondary to high antioxidant efficiency

MG-Guard UV-3030

Introducing MG-Guard UV-3030, Outstanding UV protection for clear engineering resin applications

MG-Guard UV-3030 is a solid tetrameric cyanoacrylate UV absorber with very low volatility/extractability, strong UV-B protection, and no inherent color. It is an outstanding choice for transparent engineering resins with high processing temperatures such as polycarbonate and PET. It is also suitable for other engineering resins including ABS, ASA, and polyamides, as well as alloys like PC/ABS. MG-Guard UV-3030 demonstrates good synergism with hindered amine stabilizers in resins where the use of HALS is not contraindicated.
